The QA/QC Civil Inspector is responsible for ensuring that all civil construction activities comply with project specifications, quality standards, approved drawings, and relevant codes. The role involves inspecting site works, monitoring material quality, conducting tests, and ensuring that all construction activities meet project quality requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Quality Inspection & Compliance
- Inspect civil works including excavation, foundations, concrete works, structural elements, and finishing works to ensure compliance with approved drawings and specifications.
- Ensure all construction activities follow the project Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) procedures.
- Verify materials delivered to site comply with approved material submittals and specifications.
- Monitor workmanship to ensure compliance with project standards and best practices.
Site Monitoring & Documentation
- Conduct regular site inspections and prepare inspection reports.
- Raise Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) for works that do not comply with specifications and follow up on corrective actions.
- Maintain proper records of inspections, test results, and approvals.
- Review method statements and ensure works are carried out accordingly.
Testing & Coordination
- Coordinate with third-party laboratories for material testing (concrete, soil, asphalt, etc.).
- Witness site tests and ensure testing procedures follow project specifications.
- Participate in inspections with consultants and clients.
- Ensure Inspection Requests (IRs) are prepared and submitted for consultant approval.
Quality Improvement
- Identify potential quality issues and recommend corrective and preventive measures.
- Ensure all completed works meet the required quality standards before handover.
- Support the QA/QC Engineer in implementing the project quality plan.
Requirements:
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
- Minimum 58 years of experience in QA/QC inspection for civil construction projects.
- Experience in UAE building projects
- Strong knowledge of construction materials and civil works.
- Familiarity with inspection procedures, quality standards, and testing methods.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Knowledge of ISO quality standards and QA/QC procedures.
- Good documentation and reporting skills.
