Job Purpose:
The Quality Assurance Specialist is responsible for collaborating professionally with editors and writers to uphold the highest standards of content quality across the magazine. The role includes establishing editorial guidelines for paraphrasing and source credibility, ensuring accuracy and consistency in all published materials, enhancing overall content quality, minimizing errors, and verifying the credentials and expertise of speakers featured in related events.
Duties & Responsibilities:
• Reviewing all editorial content including (original stories, articles, features, and reports) to
ensure factual accuracy, consistency, and overall editorial credibility.
• Validating data, statistics, and claims through credible sources to uphold the magazine's
integrity and reliability.
• Ensuring that all text is clearly written, logically structured, and aligned with the
publication's guidelines and quality standards to enhance readability and audience
engagement.
• Editing and refining language through editorial and marketing materials to improve clarity,
professionalism, and brand alignment.
• Checking references, citations, quotes, and factual information to guarantee authenticity
and prevent misinformation.
• Verifying the accuracy of visuals, illustrations, and captions to maintain contextual
alignment and editorial precision.
• Clarifying ambiguous data, figures, or statements to prevent misinterpretation and
strengthen message accuracy.
• Ensuring compliance with ethical journalism practices, copyright laws, and the magazine's
editorial style guide to protect the publication's reputation.
• Coordinating with editorial teams and contributors across departments to maintain
efficient communication and content flow.
• Providing constructive feedback to writers and editors to drive continuous improvement in
content quality.
Job Specifications:
• Bachelor's degree in journalism, English, Media Studies, Economics and Political
Science, or a related field.
• A master's degree or professional certification in Editing, Publishing, or Quality
Management is an advantage.
• 1–3 years of proven experience in editorial quality assurance, proofreading, or content
editing within media, publishing, or communications.
• Proven experience in fact-checking, reference verification, and maintaining editorial
standards for both print and digital publications.
• Background in cross-departmental coordination and editorial process management is
preferred.
• Experience in coaching or supervising junior editors or QA staff is a plus.
Knowledge & Skills:
• Excellent research and analytical skills to identify the accurate materials.
• Analytical mindset, details oriented.
• Solid organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage deadlines.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and sales reporting tools.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in both English and Arabic are required.
