Job Description

POSITION OBJECTIVE

The job holder will be responsible for development of Product quality, safety and compliance standards that will meet quality and efficiency standards. Will also ensure the final products meet the needs and requirements of Home Box Customers.

DO - Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with Technical designer for fabric swatch approvals / product construction approvals / line drawing approvals
  • Product sample - conduct sample inspection for the new product and submit inspection report to the respective category buyer
  • Ensure SASO (SABER) Registration & certification of all furniture products as per KSA requirement. Coordinate with Supplier for timely SASO inspection completion
  • Product packaging, assembly manual, SASO & composition labels approval
  • Product lab testing - Liaison with supplier and testing labs (Intertek, SGS, BV) for all furniture products testing Ensure that inhouse inspection is done for New product and report is shared with the Category Buyer
  • Third party inspection/Smart fortune/Ascent furniture - To provide approval to inspection report for sample inspection, pre-production sample, mass production and inspection certificate
  • Work closely with warehouse team to resolve customer complaint related to technical issues
  • Work closely with finance team to validate monthly claims summary and loose component for all location
  • Store visit to monitor and get store feedback on product quality, assembly issue and packing issue
  • Debugging and supporting Corporate supply chain team for any furniture issue raised in weekly SOH
  • Ensure QMS claims, Supplier claims, PQR (Product quality report), shipment claim, SED (Short/Excess/Damage) and WMS trouble coded damage for all the locations are done within the TAT in coordination with the Buyers
  • Coordinate with the Imports team during payment for any inspection failure or claims
  • Weekly meeting with all category buyers to follow up on the product quality issue
  • People management - Manage and monitor team development

DISPLAY

QUALIFICATION

Basic Qualification

  • Post-Graduate with technical degree in handloom / textile / wood science technology
  • Preferred Certification in Quality Management System: ISO 9001, ISO 14001

EXPERIENCE

Minimum Experience

  • 6-7 years of experience from Home & Furniture Retail (Preferably from Upholstery category)

COMPETECIES

Skills and Capabilities

  • Knowledge of Excel, Word, Outlook, PPT
  • Technical understanding and knowledge on QC / QA of Upholstery products
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in fast paced environment with attention to detail
