Role Summary
The Quality Section Head the tactical execution of daily quality control, inspection processes, and defect prevention within the luxurious jewelry brand's factory. This role ensures immediate compliance with exquisite craftsmanship standards across all production stages casting, stone setting, polishing, and finishing to deliver zero-defect products by supervising the quality inspection team, leveraging real-time testing protocols, and driving cross-functional defect resolution, the head maintains impeccable quality execution while supporting on-time delivery.
Main Responsibilities (including But Not Limited To)
- Daily Quality Execution & Inspection Oversight
- Execute daily quality inspection schedules across all production stages under Quality Manager guidance.
- Supervise random and 100% inspections for high-value pieces, ensuring compliance with luxury craftsmanship standards.
- Coordinate immediate quality holds and rework prioritization for defective items.
- Defect Detection & Process Monitoring
- Conduct real-time quality checks on casting stone setting, metalwork, polishing, and final finishing operations.
- Monitor production lines for visual defects, dimensional accuracy, gem placement precision, and surface perfection.
- Track First Pass Yield (FPY) and defect rates, implementing immediate containment actions.
- Team Supervision & Inspection Operation
- Lead and supervise quality inspectors, assigning daily inspection zones and workloads across production areas.
- Train team updated quality standards, inspection techniques, and defect classification protocols.
- Conduct shift-end quality audits and performance reviews with inspection teams.
- Non-Conformance & Corrective Actions
- Manage daily Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), categorizing defects and assigning root cause investigations.
- Coordinate with Production teams for immediate rework scheduling and defect elimination.
- Track rework cycles and ensure timely resolution without delaying customer shipments.
- Testing & Measurement Execution
- Oversee daily functionality tests, weight verifications, and aesthetic evaluations using precision tools.
- Execute gem certification checks, color matching, and clarity assessments per brand standards.
- Maintain calibration schedules for all measuring equipment and testing instruments.
- Cross Functional Quality Coordination
- Liaise daily with Production, Planning, and Design teams to resolve quality issues impacting schedules.
- Provide real-time quality status updates to prevent shipment of non-conforming products.
- Support supplier quality by inspecting incoming raw materials (gold, gems, findings) against specifications.
- Documentation, Compliance & Reporting
- Maintain accurate daily quality records, inspection results, and defect databases for traceability.
- Ensure compliance with international standards (ISO, Responsible Jewelry Council) and export documentation.
- Prepare daily/weekly quality performance reports for Quality Manager, highlighting trends and improvements.
- Facilitate clear communication of quality issues across factory teams for rapid resolution.
Education & Experience
- Education bachelor's degree in quality management, Industrial Engineering, Materials Science, Gemology, or related technical field. ASQ Certified Quality Inspector (CQI), Six Sigma Green Belt, or similar certifications preferred.
- Work Experience: 7–10+ years in quality control/inspection within manufacturing, with 3+ years supervising quality inspection teams in precision industries.
- Experience in luxury goods, jewelry manufacturing, or high-precision production handling gemstones, precious metals, and artisanal finishing.
- Hands-on knowledge of jewelry quality processes including stone setting inspection, casting defect detection, polishing standards, plating evaluation, and final assembly verification.
- Proven experience with quality management systems, inspection equipment (micrometers, profilometers, gem testers), and defect tracking software.
- Track record in high-volume inspection environments with zero-defect culture implementation and cross-functional defect resolution.

- Strong knowledge of quality standards across casting integrity, stone setting precision, metal polishing, plating adhesion, and final assembly perfection.
