Quality Control Team Lead

Job Purpose:

The Quality Control (QC) Team Leader ensures compliance with food safety and quality standards across all processes, from receiving and storage to production and display. This role supervises the QC team, monitors daily operations, and works closely with different departments to maintain Spinneys commitment to providing safe, high-quality products to customers.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and supervise the quality control team in daily operations.

Monitor and evaluate food safety and hygiene practices across all departments.

Conduct regular inspections of raw materials, storage areas, and production lines.

Ensure compliance with local food safety regulations, HACCP, ISO standards, and company policies.

Investigate customer complaints related to product quality and implement corrective actions.

Train and coach QC staff on hygiene, safety, and quality standards.

Prepare and maintain quality reports, checklists, and documentation for audits.

Collaborate with procurement, operations, and warehouse teams to ensure supplier quality and proper handling of goods.

Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality and minimize risks.

Act as the key contact for external audits and governmental inspections.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Veterinary Medicine, Food Science, Agriculture, or a related field.

5 years of experience in quality control, preferably in retail, food production, or FMCG is a MUST.

Strong knowledge of HACCP, ISO 22000, GMP, and local food safety laws.

Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team.

Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

Strong communication and reporting skills.

Ability to work under pressure and adapt to fast-paced retail operations.
