Job Purpose
The Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring that all project activities, materials, installations, and workmanship comply with approved drawings, project specifications, applicable codes, quality standards, and company procedures.
The role requires regular presence at different project sites and close coordination with project teams, subcontractors, consultants, and other stakeholders to maintain the required quality standards throughout project execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform site inspections to verify that construction and installation activities comply with approved drawings, specifications, and applicable standards.
- Inspect incoming materials and equipment and verify their compliance with approved technical requirements.
- Review project drawings, specifications, method statements, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), and other quality-related documentation.
- Monitor workmanship and execution quality throughout different stages of the project.
- Prepare and maintain inspection reports, quality records, checklists, and supporting documentation.
- Identify quality issues and raise Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) when required.
- Follow up on NCRs and ensure proper implementation and closure of corrective actions.
- Support the implementation of corrective and preventive actions to avoid recurrence of quality issues.
- Coordinate inspections and quality requirements with project teams, subcontractors, consultants, and other relevant parties.
- Participate in internal quality inspections and audits.
- Ensure compliance with the company's Quality Management System (QMS) and project-specific quality procedures.
- Maintain proper documentation and records to ensure traceability and audit readiness.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to project quality and execution.
- Prepare quality reports and highlight recurring issues, risks, and areas requiring improvement.
- Ensure quality requirements are communicated clearly to site teams and subcontractors.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably Civil, Mechanical, or a relevant engineering discipline.
- 3–5 years of experience in Quality Engineering, QA/QC, or a similar role, preferably within construction, EPC, industrial, or infrastructure projects.
- Good knowledge of quality procedures, inspection processes, and documentation.
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
- Familiarity with NCRs, ITPs, inspection requests, method statements, and quality records.
- Good reporting, communication, and coordination skills.
- Good command of English and Arabic.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Willingness and ability to work and rotate between different company project sites across Egypt, depending on project requirements.
