Job Summary
JOB DESCRIPTION
QA Engineer is responsible to identify the needs and implementing Corrective/Preventative actions. NCR closures and analysis of the root causes. Supplier FA inspection status and updates, Vendor qualification and approval, Customer Documentation, MTR Review, Calibration of measuring equipment, required quality support to the location vendors, Identify the vendor needs with regards to quality and adequate support. Regular communication with the line manager with regards to location/vendor quality issues.
Primary
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Comply with NOV HSEQ Policy and Safety Procedures to avoid incidents and accidents.
- Participate in contract review & PPM meetings with customers/vendors, where applicable.
- Provide customer documentation as per sales request.
- Managing customer complaints, by conducting Root cause analysis and ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
- Qualifying and maintaining the welding and NDE certification requirements for plant/supplier.
- Coordinating with all stake holders to resolve any quality issues/concerns.
- Participate in part review to identify & rolling out of inspection methodologies/equipment to be used for new part numbers introduced in the plant.
- Ensure the communication & roll out of new procedures/revised procedures in plant & suppliers.
- Coordinate with stake holders for FA Inspection, approval and maintenance (internal/suppliers).
- Raw material test certificate review, approval, and upload on portal.
- NCR creation & maintenance in JDE.
- Work with PLE, production and ME for getting disposition for all NCR's.
- Perform analysis on NCR's, coordinate with all stakeholders to identify & implement corrective/preventive actions for all procedural violations and NCR's.
- Devising and managing the calibration program for measuring and inspection equipment.
- Carry out inspection (Visual, Dimensional, NDT, etc.), at all stages of manufacturing.
- Train vendor or internal QC and machinists on inspection methods for NOV parts.
- Assist line manager for audits (external, internal, process, supplier, etc.).
- Identify and implement latest and accurate inspection methods/techniques in plant.
- Organize meetings and communicate NOV's requirements to the vendors.
- Regular communication with line manager with respect to location/vendor quality issues
Secondary
- Know and be able to use precision measuring instruments used by the inspection department.
- Be able to read and interpret Bowen prints and specifications.
- Have a mechanical aptitude.
- Good coordination / collaboration skills
- Must work independently
Essential
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/SKILL-SET REQUIRED:
- Mechanical or Production Engineering degree,
- ISO 9001 Internal Auditor & NDT Level II
- Minimum 5-7 years of Quality Assurance experience, in Oil and Gas manufacturing environment
- Knowledge & experience in manufacturing processes (Machining, NDE, Welding, coating, Heat treatment, etc).
- Experience in premimum threads inspection (preferably GP).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Lead RCA's and corrective actions for internal and external non-conformities.
- Auditing skills would be a plus.

Desirable
- ASQ CQE, CSWIP 3.1
- Experience with NOV tools manufacturing, Bits, Welding and Brazing experience.
