Job Description

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:

Test each release of the company's business applications before it reaches end users, and confirm that the

system behaves the way the business expects it to. The role combines hands on functional testing with the

discipline of a structured QA approach and grows automated coverage over time to support it.

The role works against deployed environments and maintains its own test automation repository. Access to application source code is not required.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Functional testing and behavior validation
  • Test new and changed functionality on every release, before it reaches business users.
  • Confirm that the system behaves according to the agreed requirements, and raise any gap between

intended and actual behavior.

  • Translate requirements and change requests into structured test cases, including negative and edge cases

rather than only the expected path.

  • Carry out exploratory testing beyond the written cases to surface issues that scripted testing does not

reach.

  • Validate complete business workflows end to end, not only individual screens.

.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent practical experience.
  • One to three years in software testing, quality assurance, or software development.
  • Demonstrated ability to turn a requirement into a structured set of test cases covering both expected and unexpected behavior.
  • Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail, with the instinct to ask whether the system is doing the right thing rather than only whether it runs.
  • Precise written English, sufficient for defect reports that can be actioned without follow up questions.
  • Methodical and well organized, able to track many open items without losing any Technical foundation sufficient to build automated tests, including working knowledge of JavaScript,

TypeScript, or Python, and familiarity with Git.

  • Hands on experience with a browser automation framework such as Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium.
  • API testing using Postman or an equivalent tool.
  • Basic SQL for data verification.
  • Prior QA experience on a web application running in production.
  • Exposure to enterprise business systems such as HR, workforce management, ERP, or payroll platforms.
  • Understanding of role-based access control concepts.
  • Continuous integration pipeline experience, for example GitHub Actions.
  • ISTQB Foundation certification.
