Job Description
Role Purpose
The Quality Inspector is responsible for ensuring that materials, products, and processes in the chemical disposal / logistics hubs at ASMO meet quality standards and specifications. They conduct inspections, perform tests, and document findings to support quality assurance efforts.
The role is based at CPY site (Abqaiq Central Pipe Yard), a high-volume operational environment involving heavy pipe handling activities, large-scale logistics movement, and intensive material handling operations.
Key Responsibilities/ Accountabilities
Ensure quality oversight within a high-traffic operational environment involving pipe handling activities, heavy material handling equipment (MHE), and frequent truck loading and unloading operations.
Monitor and verify that pipe handling, storage, stacking, and transportation activities are carried out in accordance with approved quality standards, inspection procedures, and operational guidelines.
Conduct field quality inspections during pipe loading, unloading, lifting, and yard storage activities to ensure materials are handled without damage and meet required specifications.
Inspect material condition, pipe integrity, labeling, and documentation during receipt and dispatch processes to ensure compliance with operational and customer quality requirements.
Identify and report quality deviations related to material handling, storage practices, or operational processes, and coordinate with operations teams to implement corrective actions.
Support site teams in maintaining proper quality control during high-volume logistics operations, ensuring materials remain compliant throughout handling and transportation processes.
Conduct inspections of incoming materials, components, and finished products to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications.
Perform tests and measurements to assess product quality, functionality, and performance.
Document inspection results, test data, and any non-conformities or deviations from quality standards.
Collaborate with suppliers, warehouse teams, and other stakeholders to address quality issues and implement corrective actions.
Provide guidance and support to ensure compliance with quality procedures and best practices.
Participate in the development and improvement of quality control processes and procedures.
Train and educate employees on quality standards, inspection techniques, and quality control methodologies.
Contribute to the identification of opportunities for the continuous improvement of systems, processes and practices to increase productivity and operational efficiency.
Implement all relevant Supply Chain & Logistics department's policies, processes, procedures and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.
Contribute to the preparation of timely and accurate reports to meet departmental requirements, policies and standards.
Knowledge & Experience
Bachelor's degree in quality management, quality engineering, or equivalent from a recognized and accredited university is required.
Quality-related certifications (e.g., Certified Quality Inspector, Certified Quality Technician) preferred
Demonstrated proficiency in oral and written English
5 years experience in similar or related field
Proven experience in Quality in heavy industrial environments involving pipe lifting operations and use of 35-ton MHE and high-volume logistics movements (500+ truck movements per day).
