QUALITY INSPECTORS

RESPONSIBILITY :

1] Reports to the QAManager

2] Responsible for overall QC/FSM activities.

The Role: The QC Inspector is responsible for monitoring product quality during corrugated board and carton production, ensuring that materials, processes, and finished products meet company specifications and customer requirements. The role involves inspection, testing, documentation, and reporting of quality issues during production.

MAIN TASKS

1.Raw Material Inspection:

Inspect incoming materials including raw paper, starch adhesives and inks and chemicals.

• Verify specifications such as GSM, moisture content, and physical condition.
• Report and document any non-conforming materials.

2.In-Process Production Inspection

Monitor production quality across the corrugating and converting processes.

• Corrugator checks include flute formation quality, bonding between liners and medium, board caliper and thickness, moisture levels, warp and flatness.
• Converting checks including die-cutting accuracy, crease quality, print registration and color consistency, glue joint integrity & carton dimensions.

3.Laboratory Testing

Perform routine quality tests on paper and corrugated board including Edge Crush Test, Box Compression Test, Burst Strength Test, Cobb Test etc. Record and report test and inspection results accurately.

4.Quality Documentation

• Maintain inspection records and quality reports.
• Complete production quality checklists and test logs.
• Ensure traceability of inspected materials and products.

5.Non-Conformance Reporting

• Identify and report defective materials or products.
• Inform production supervisors and QA Manager of quality deviations.
• Assist in segregation and control of non-conforming products.

6.Compliance with Quality Standards

• Follow company quality procedures aligned with standards like ISO 9001, ISO 22000, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, FSC Chain of Custody, SEDEX and BRCGS
• Support internal audits and external quality audits when required.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS :

Education

Diploma or technical qualification in:

oMechanical / Industrial Engineering

oPackaging / Paper Technology

oQuality Control or related field.

Experience

24 years experience in corrugated packaging or manufacturing quality inspectiondesired
