Job Title: Quality Manager

Reports To: Engineering Manager / Project Director

Position Overview

The Quality Manager develops, implements, and oversees the project Quality Management System (QMS) across all CSI Owner's Engineer and PMC activities for the Zambia Solar PV and BESS program, ensuring compliance with contractual quality obligations and international standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement the Project Quality Plan (PQP) and QMS framework for the program.
  • Define quality procedures, inspection protocols, and documentation standards for both off-site and onsite teams.
  • Manage and coordinate the two onsite QA/QC Inspectors and review their inspection and NCR reports.
  • Develop and maintain the master Inspection and Test Plan (ITP) matrix for all project disciplines.
  • Conduct quality audits of EPC contractor QMS and verify implementation of approved quality procedures.
  • Review and approve critical material test reports, equipment certificates, and quality records.
  • Manage the NCR database and ensure effective close-out with verified corrective actions.
  • Prepare quality performance reports including NCR trends, audit findings, and inspection statistics.
  • Develop and implement the project punch list management procedure.
  • Coordinate with the Client on quality-related requirements and reporting obligations.
  • Lead the quality handover and project close-out documentation process.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Civil, or Mechanical).
  • Minimum 12 years of quality management experience in construction or power projects; at least 4 years as Quality Manager on utility-scale solar or energy projects.
  • Certified Lead Auditor ISO 9001 (required).
  • Strong knowledge of QMS frameworks, ITP development, and NCR management.
  • Experience with EPC contract quality oversight and Owner's Engineer quality roles.
  • Excellent organizational, leadership, and reporting skills.
