Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly experienced Quality Specialist with a strong background in environmental services or waste management, or municipal services. The role is responsible for leading quality management activities across waste collection, sweeping, and cleaning operations, ensuring full compliance with contractual, regulatory, and quality management system requirements. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on operational quality expertise, strong leadership skills, and a proven track record in driving continuous improvement within large-scale service contracts.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Management & Assurance

  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve Quality Management Systems (QMS) in line with ISO standards and contractual requirements.
  • Ensure quality policies, procedures, and work instructions are effectively implemented across all operational areas.
  • Monitor service delivery to ensure compliance with environmental regulations, client specifications, and internal quality standards.

Team Leadership & Supervision

  • Lead, mentor, and supervise the quality team, including Quality Officers and Inspectors.
  • Set clear performance objectives, conduct evaluations, and ensure team competency through ongoing coaching and training.
  • Foster a strong quality culture across operations and frontline teams.

Operational & Contract Compliance

  • Oversee quality compliance for waste collection, street sweeping, and cleaning contracts.
  • Conduct routine and ad-hoc site inspections to ensure adherence to service level agreements (SLAs) and KPIs.
  • Coordinate with operations teams to resolve quality-related issues proactively.

Inspection, Auditing & Monitoring

  • Plan and conduct internal audits, inspections, and quality assessments across sites, equipment, and processes.
  • Identify gaps, risks, and opportunities for improvement, ensuring timely follow-up and closure of findings.
  • Support external audits and client inspections as required.

Non-Conformance & Corrective Actions

  • Investigate non-conformances, customer complaints, and service failures.
  • Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Track and report trends to prevent recurrence and improve overall service quality.

Training, Documentation & Reporting

  • Deliver quality-related training and awareness sessions to operational teams.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, including inspection reports, audit records, NCRs, and CAPA logs.
  • Prepare periodic quality performance reports and dashboards for senior management and clients.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Quality Officer, Quality Inspector, or Quality Specialist, preferably within waste management, environmental services, or municipal services.
  • Strong hands-on experience in quality management systems and operational quality control.
  • Proven experience managing quality for waste collection, sweeping, and cleaning contracts is highly preferred.
  • Solid understanding of regulatory requirements, environmental compliance, and industry standards.
  • Strong leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • High attention to detail with the ability to analyze data and identify quality trends.
