Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Project Quantity Surveyor to join our existing Abu Dhabi project team, with strong hands-on expertise in variation orders, change management, quantity take-off, remeasurement, and subcontractor commercial administration.

The selected candidate will play a key role in identifying project changes, valuing additional works, preparing variation submissions, and protecting project margins through effective commercial control.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all quantity surveying and commercial activities related to the assigned live project.
  • Prepare and submit variation orders / change orders for additional and revised works.
  • Review IFC drawings, revised drawings, site instructions, and consultant comments to identify variation opportunities.
  • Carry out quantity take-off, remeasurement, and rate build-up for changed works.
  • Coordinate with project managers, planning engineers, QA/QC, and site engineers for supporting records.
  • Maintain proper logs for variation status, approvals, pending values, and client responses.
  • Prepare supporting documents for claims related to additional scope, abortive works, and delays.
  • Review and certify subcontractor measurements, variations, and interim payments.
  • Monitor project cost impact of variations and report on margin exposure.
  • Assist in commercial meetings with consultant/client representatives.
  • Support monthly valuation and cost reporting related to site progress.

Key Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering / Quantity Surveying.
  • 5–10 years of experience in quantity surveying with main contractors in UAE, preferably on building or high-rise projects.
  • Strong practical experience in variation orders and project change management.
  • Proven experience working on live site projects in Abu Dhabi / UAE.
  • Strong understanding of measurement, BOQ, and remeasurement principles.
  • Good knowledge of FIDIC and project contract administration.
  • Experience in subcontractor payment certification and VO reconciliation.
  • Excellent command of Excel and quantity take-off software.
  • Strong communication skills for consultant and client correspondence.
