Key Responsibilities
- Quantity Take-Off & Measurement: Prepare accurate quantity take-offs from 2D drawings, BIM models, and project specifications for GRC, UHPC, GRP, GRG, Glass, Aluminum, Structural Steel, and associated façade systems.
- Cost Planning & Estimation: Assist in Preparing budgets, BOQs, cost estimates, and cost plans for design, engineering, manufacturing, procurement, logistics, installation, temporary works, and project overheads.
- Tender & Proposal Preparation: Review tender documents, specifications, drawings, and BOQs; prepare tender queries (RFIs); develop commercial proposals, pricing schedules, qualifications, assumptions, inclusions, exclusions, and supporting tender documentation in accordance with client requirements.
- Procurement & Supplier Management: Issue RFQs, obtain and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations, prepare commercial bid comparisons, negotiate pricing, and maintain supplier cost databases.
- Contract Administration: Prepare interim valuations, variations, change orders, payment applications, final accounts, and monitor project costs in accordance with contractual requirements.
- Value Engineering & Risk Assessment: Identify value engineering opportunities, evaluate alternative materials and construction methodologies, and assess commercial, technical, and procurement risks throughout the tendering and project execution stages.
- Project Coordination: Collaborate with Design & Engineering, Procurement, Manufacturing, Planning, QA/QC, and Project Management teams to ensure technical and commercial alignment during both tendering and project execution.
- Reporting & Documentation: Maintain quantity records, cost reports, procurement logs, variation registers, tender documentation, and commercial records while supporting continuous process improvement.
- General Responsibilities: Perform other quantity surveying, commercial, and pre-contract/post-contract duties as assigned by the Commercial Manager, Estimating Manager, or senior management.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in quantity take-offs, BOQ preparation, cost planning, and commercial estimating.
- Strong ability to interpret architectural, structural, façade, and engineering drawings, specifications, and BIM models.
- Experience with Microsoft Excel and quantity surveying/estimating software such as Bluebeam, PlanSwift, AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, Rhino, or similar platforms.
- Sound knowledge of procurement, tendering, contract administration, commercial reporting, and cost control.
- Familiarity with façade systems including GRC, UHPC, GRP, GRG, Glass, Aluminum, and Structural Steel.
