Quantity Surveyor - Infrastructure

Job Summary

Khatib & Alami is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our Consultancy Supervision Team in Dubai. The successful candidate will be responsible for quantity surveying, cost control, contract administration, valuations, variations, and commercial management for major infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Review contract documents, drawings, specifications, BOQs, and tender documentation.
• Perform detailed measurement and verification of quantities for infrastructure works.
• Review contractor interim payment applications and prepare payment certificates.
• Evaluate variations, change orders, claims, and additional works.
• Monitor project costs, budgets, commitments, and financial progress.
• Assist with cost forecasting and monthly commercial reporting.
• Review and assess contractor claims in accordance with contractual requirements.
• Maintain accurate records of quantities, variations, payments, and commercial correspondence.
• Assist in the preparation and evaluation of final accounts.
• Provide commercial and contractual advice to the Project Manager and wider supervision team.
• Coordinate with engineers, contractors, consultants, and client representatives on commercial matters.
• Monitor contractual compliance and identify potential commercial risks.
• Attend progress and commercial meetings and provide quantity surveying input.
• Ensure all commercial activities are carried out in accordance with project procedures, contract conditions, and applicable UAE standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
• 10 years of overall experience in Quantity Surveying.
• Minimum 7 years of UAE experience in infrastructure projects.
• Experience in roads, highways, utilities, drainage, infrastructure networks, or related civil works is preferred.
• Consultancy experience is mandatory.
• Strong experience in BOQ, measurement, valuations, variations, claims, and contract administration.
• Good knowledge of FIDIC contracts and UAE construction practices.
• Strong understanding of infrastructure project cost control and commercial management.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and relevant quantity surveying/commercial software.
• Excellent communication, coordination, negotiation, and analytical skills.
