Job Description

The Quantity Surveryor will manage and control all commercial, contractual, and cost-related aspects of Waterproofing & Insulation (WI) works, ensuring projects are delivered within budget, in compliance with contract requirements, and with timely billing and cost reporting.

Key roles and responsibilities

Commercial & Cost Control

  • Prepare and review BOQs, cost estimates, and budgets for WI works.
  • Monitor project costs and ensure effective cost control and forecasting.
  • Track variations, claims, and additional works related to waterproofing systems.
  • Maintain updated cost reports and cash flow forecasts.

Billing & Payments

  • Prepare and submit interim payment applications and final bills.
  • Measure executed WI works accurately as per drawings and specifications.
  • Coordinate with clients/consultants for billing certification and approvals.
  • Verify and certify subcontractor and supplier invoices.

Contracts & Procurement

  • Assist in tender analysis, rate evaluation, and contract finalization for WI subcontractors.
  • Prepare and review work orders, subcontracts, and amendments.
  • Ensure compliance with contract terms, specifications, and scope of work.

Coordination & Site Support

  • Coordinate with project managers, site engineers, planning, and QA/QC teams.
  • Support site teams with measurement clarifications and commercial inputs.
  • Attend project meetings related to commercial and contractual matters.

Documentation & Compliance

  • Maintain proper records of measurements, variations, correspondence, and approvals.
  • Ensure commercial documentation aligns with company procedures and audit requirements.

Must have skills:

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or relevant field.
  • 5+ years of exp. as a Quantity Surveyor (QS) for water infrastructure with Technical understanding of water supply, sewage, and treatment plant construction techniques.
  • Experience in managing the financial, contractual, and technical aspects of projects like treatment plants and pipelines.
  • Experiend in handling cost estimation, BoQ (Bill of Quantities) preparation, tender documentation, and sub-contractor billing to ensure projects stay within budget.
