Summary:
Responsible for the safe, efficient and productive movement of containers to and from vessels.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performs a pre-shift check to ensure there are no defects with their crane prior to commencement of work.
- Operates quay cranes /mobile quay cranes on the terminal in accordance with company policies.
- Positions the crane safely on the vessel as per the vessel supervisor and hatch man's instructions.
- Coordinates with the supervisor and hatch man for instructions with regards to the loading and discharging of cargo.
- Undertakes routine cleaning of QC cabins and windows.
- Reports vessel or cargo damages accordingly.
- Ensures that all cargo is handled safely.
- Operates other terminal container handling equipment as instructed and required.
- Performs other duties as required.
Qualification:
Educational Background
High School or equivalent.
Related Work Experience
A minimum of 2 years experience operating a quay crane. Preferably have prior experience with terminal operating systems, especially MACH.
