Job Purpose
The Railway Safety Supervisor is responsible for supporting the implementation and continuous improvement of railway safety standards within RDMC. This role plays a key part in ensuring compliance with safety procedures, fostering a positive safety culture, and aligning safety practices with the directives of the Executive Committee. The position also contributes to the effective integration of the Safety Management System (SMS) to maintain a safe and efficient railway environment.

Safety Management System (SMS)
- Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of the Railway Safety Management System.
- Assist in preparing and reviewing safety-related plans, procedures, and strategies.
- Contribute to the Risk-Based Training Needs Analysis in coordination with relevant departments.
- Participate in the management of change process by assessing safety risks associated with operational or organizational changes.
Safety Training And Awareness
- Collaborate with the Training Department to design and deliver safety training programs.
- Lead or support safety awareness workshops and campaigns.
- Promote safety culture among RDMC staff, subcontractors, and third parties.
Event Reporting And Investigation
- Ensure timely reporting of all safety-related events including hazards, non-conformities, near-misses, incidents, and accidents.
- Conduct or support investigations and root cause analyses for railway safety events.
- Recommend and follow up on corrective and preventive actions.
Monitoring, Auditing, And Compliance
- Conduct internal safety audits to verify implementation of safety processes by RDMC teams and contractors.
- Monitor and report on safety performance indicators (KPIs) in alignment with contractual and regulatory requirements.
- Support the preparation of railway safety reports for internal use and external stakeholders.
Risk Management
- Participate in the identification, evaluation, and mitigation of safety risks.
- Assist operational teams in maintaining and updating risk registers.
- Ensure safety risks are addressed in day-to-day activities and project execution.
Safety Accountabilities
- Attend safety meetings, briefings, and campaigns as required.
- Comply with all RDMC safety policies and Safety Management System requirements.
- Ensure all personnel (staff, contractors, and visitors) are informed of relevant safety procedures and risks.
Take proactive responsibility for the safety of others, considering actions and omissions.
- Support and uphold accountability for safety, security, and environmental compliance.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the HSE Management Team.
Qualifications
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field.
- Safety qualifications recognized by the relevant regulatory authorities.
- Certification in incident investigation, firefighting, and risk management.
Knowledge
- Experience in designing and delivering safety training programs.
- In-depth knowledge of safety regulations.
- Strong communication skills with a proven ability to collaborate effectively.
- Proficiency in English, both spoken and written.
Experience
- 5 to 7 years of experience in an industrial safety environment (e.g., oil & gas, steel plants, automotive plants), with experience working within multidisciplinary and/or multinational teams.
