JOB PURPOSE
The Development Officer is responsible for supporting the real estate development team in planning, analyzing, and executing real estate projects. This role involves conducting market research, assisting in feasibility studies, coordinating documentation, and facilitating approvals to ensure timely project progress.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Project Development Support
- Assist in preparing development briefs, concept notes, and project initiation documents
- Participate in site assessments, due diligence, and feasibility studies
- Collect and organize project data, market research, and benchmarking information
Documentation & Reporting
- Support the preparation of financial models, business cases, and investment memos
- Maintain organized records of project approvals, design updates, and key decisions
- Assist in preparing regular progress reports and presentation decks for internal stakeholders
Coordination & Follow-Up
- Coordinate with internal teams (design, finance, legal, construction) and external consultants to gather required inputs
- Track development timelines, flag delays, and follow up on deliverables
- Participate in project meetings and document action points and responsibilities
Process Improvement & Learning
- Contribute to lessons learned documentation and project close-out reports
- Stay updated on industry trends, sustainability practices, and regulatory changes impacting real estate development
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Real Estate, Business Administration, Urban Planning, Civil Engineering, or a related field Experience:
• 0-2 years of experience in real estate development, project coordination, or a related field
COMPETENCIES/SKILL SETS
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Basic understanding of real estate development processes
- Good communication and report writing skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel and PowerPoint); knowledge of project management tools is a plus
