Title of the position: Regional Medical Affairs Manager– Strategic Partnerships

Reports to (which function):Head of Global Medical Affairs (with functional collaboration with Strategic Partnerships leadership)

Purpose of the job

The Regional Medical Affairs Manager - Strategic Partnerships provides scientific and medical leadership in support of Besins Healthcare strategic partnership activities and the international distributor network. The role ensures high-quality, evidence-based and compliant medical support for partner markets, including review of distributor materials, medical education, scientific engagement, product launch support, medical information and KOL interaction. The position works closely with Global Medical Affairs, Strategic Partnerships, Regulatory Affairs, Commercial, Pharmacovigilance, Legal and other relevant functions to support the implementation of global medical strategies in women's health, men's health and specialty products.

Main missions and responsibilities + expected results:

Accountability 1:Medical Support to Strategic Partnerships and Distributors

Expected result:

  • Act as the key Medical Affairs partner for Strategic Partnerships and distributor-related medical activities.
  • Provide scientific and medical guidance to distributors across partner markets, supporting high-quality external scientific communication.
  • Support the implementation of global medical strategies and product launch plans across women's health, men's health and specialty product portfolios specific for multiple countries in the Region.
  • Ensure partner-market medical activities are aligned with Besins Healthcare standards, scientific evidence, local requirements and applicable compliance principles.
  • Build effective working relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners to strengthen scientific support for strategic partnership markets.

Accountability 2:Review of Distributor Materials and Scientific Content

Expected result:

  • Review distributor materials such as brochures, slide decks, flyers, digital materials, educational content and other medical or scientific documents.
  • Ensure scientific accuracy, medical balance, appropriate referencing and alignment with approved product information where applicable.
  • Support review activities linked to upcoming product launches and the implementation of global processes for distributor marketing and medical materials.
  • Work collaboratively with Regulatory Affairs, Commercial, Legal and other relevant functions to ensure appropriate review and approval workflows.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of processes, templates and practical guidance for partner-market material review.

Accountability 3:Medical Education, Training and Capability Building

Expected result:

  • Design, develop and deliver medical and scientific training for distributor medical representatives, marketing teams and relevant partner stakeholders.
  • Translate complex scientific information into clear, practical and engaging educational content tailored to local market needs.
  • Support training related to women's health, men's health and specialty products, including new product launches and lifecycle management activities.
  • Facilitate knowledge sharing between Global Medical Affairs, Strategic Partnerships and partner organisations.
  • Identify recurrent knowledge gaps and propose training solutions to strengthen distributor medical and scientific capabilities.

Accountability 4:Congresses, Roundtables and Regional Expert Engagement

Expected result:

  • Support and participate in local, regional and international congresses, symposia, scientific meetings and partner-led educational events.
  • Organise and contribute to expert roundtables and KOL engagements in collaboration with Strategic Partnerships and relevant internal teams.
  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with regional experts, healthcare professionals, scientific societies and key opinion leaders.
  • Ensure high-quality communication with experts across the region, demonstrating cultural sensitivity, professionalism and scientific credibility.
  • Gather relevant scientific and medical insights from external engagements and share them appropriately with internal stakeholders.

Accountability 5:Medical Information and Scientific Enquiries

Expected result:

  • Handle medical information requests from distributors, healthcare professionals and internal stakeholders in a timely, accurate and balanced manner.
  • Prepare local or adapt global evidence-based scientific responses, FAQs and supporting materials where required.
  • Ensure appropriate documentation, tracking and escalation of medical enquiries in line with internal processes and compliance requirements.
  • Collaborate with Global and Local Medical Affairs, Pharmacovigilance, Regulatory Affairs and other relevant functions where responses require cross-functional input.
  • Identify recurring topics and support development of proactive scientific communication resources for partner markets.

Accountability 6:Cross-Functional Collaboration, Compliance and Regional Effectiveness

Expected result:

  • Work closely with Global Medical Affairs, Strategic Partnerships, Commercial, Regulatory, Pharmacovigilance, Legal and other relevant functions.
  • Serves as a main point of contact for medical plans consolidation and communication for franchise strategic plans at the region.
  • Operate effectively in a global matrix environment, balancing strategic partnership needs with medical governance and compliance expectations.
  • Demonstrate strong cross-cultural agility, sensitivity to local healthcare environments and understanding of regional stakeholder expectations.
  • Influence and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders without direct authority.
  • Support transparent ways of working, consistent documentation, issue escalation and continuous improvement of Strategic Partnerships medical support.

Expected competencies:

  • Medical Doctor (MD) degree is required; postgraduate qualification in a relevant therapeutic area is desirable.
  • 5+ years of Medical Affairs experience within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology or healthcare industry, preferably in an international or regional role.
  • Strong medical and scientific knowledge in women's health and/or men's health are preferable, alternatively specialty product knowledge is highly desirable.
  • Experience working with distributors, strategic partners, affiliates or external stakeholder networks across multiple markets.
  • Excellent scientific communication skills, including the ability to engage credibly with healthcare professionals, KOLs and regional experts.
  • Strong presentation and facilitation skills, with experience delivering training, congress presentations, webinars or scientific workshops.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, relationship-building capability and ability to influence without direct authority in a matrix environment.
  • Fluent English is required; Arabic and/or French language skills are highly desirable, with additional local languages considered an advantage.
  • Understanding of regional healthcare environments, cultural nuances and stakeholder communication styles, particularly in Middle East and strategic partnership markets.
  • Experience reviewing medical, scientific, promotional and non-promotional materials in line with pharmaceutical industry standards and compliance expectations.
  • Ability to work autonomously, manage several priorities simultaneously and deliver high-quality outputs in a dynamic global environment.
  • Professionalism, sound medical judgement, attention to detail, solution orientation and strong organisational skills.
  • Ability and willingness to travel internationally to support partner markets, congresses, roundtables and expert engagements.
