Job Purpose
The Specialist Radiologist is responsible for performing diagnostic imaging procedures using various radiology techniques and ensuring high-quality patient care. The role involves collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, supporting departmental operations, and contributing to continuous quality improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform a wide range of radiological examinations, including fluoroscopy, angiography, invasive procedures, ultrasound, CT scans, and MRI within the scope of training and granted privileges.
- Interpret and analyze diagnostic images accurately, documenting imaging data and patient history.
- Participate in treatment planning, including radiation therapy when required, prescribe medications, and consult with patients.
- Attend and contribute to medical conferences and case discussions.
- Provide guidance and supervision to technologists, especially in complex or unusual cases.
- Support quality improvement programs to meet healthcare standards.
- Participate in teaching and training programs for residents, interns, and technologists.
- Ensure patient-centered care with compassion, respect, and dignity.
- Perform other related duties as required by the department.
Requirements
Education:
- Medical degree from a recognized institution.
- Completion of internship and residency in Radiology.
- Postgraduate qualification in Radiology specialty.
Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years post-specialty experience.
