Job Description

The Relationship Manager is responsible for acquiring new clients in the UAE and managing an existing portfolio of customers by delivering a high standard of customer service and relationship management.

The role focuses on driving growth in current and savings account deposits while cross-selling banking products such as fixed deposits, mortgages, credit cards, and other lending products. The position also ensures seamless client onboarding in line with banking regulations and internal policies while maintaining strong portfolio quality.

The role requires strong business development skills, proactive client engagement, and the ability to identify opportunities to expand the client base through strategic planning, marketing initiatives, and relationship building.

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Client Acquisition

  • Achieve assigned financial targets by acquiring new customers and managing existing client relationships.
  • Develop and implement action plans to expand the client base and increase deposits.
  • Identify and implement new strategies and channels to acquire customers.
  • Promote and cross-sell banking products including mortgages, credit cards, deposits, and lending solutions.
  • Monitor sales performance and implement corrective actions when necessary.

Sales Execution & Pipeline Management

  • Execute sales activities in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Maintain and manage a strong sales pipeline.
  • Track sales activities and prepare regular reports on performance and progress.
  • Ensure consistent follow-up with prospects to convert leads into customers.

Account Management & Client Development

  • Build and maintain strong long-term relationships with clients.
  • Provide clients with financial guidance and recommend suitable banking products.
  • Identify opportunities to cross-sell and up-sell additional services.
  • Develop strategies to attract high-net-worth clients and expand the elite client portfolio.

Marketing & Business Development

  • Represent the bank at industry events, networking opportunities, and market activities.
  • Promote the bank's services and strengthen brand positioning in the UAE market.
  • Identify potential partnerships and business opportunities within the community.

Client Relationship Management

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all client banking requirements.
  • Maintain strong professional relationships with both new and existing customers.
  • Conduct sales calls and meetings with prospective clients.
  • Follow up on documentation, approvals, and client requirements to ensure smooth account opening and product processing.

Compliance & Regulatory Awareness

  • Ensure all activities comply with internal policies, risk procedures, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Maintain awareness of relevant banking regulations within Kuwait, DIFC, and the UAE.
  • Ensure adherence to mortgage, lending, and account management policies.

Reporting & Documentation

  • Prepare weekly and monthly reports covering sales activities, mortgage pipeline, and lending status.
  • Maintain accurate client records and documentation.

General Responsibilities

  • Achieve assigned KPIs and sales targets across all banking products.
  • Maintain strong awareness of market trends and competitor offerings.
  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and service quality.
  • Identify operational improvements and contribute to business development initiatives.

Qualifications & Experience

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or a related field.

Experience

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in retail banking sales and lending.
  • Proven experience in client acquisition and relationship management within the banking sector.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong knowledge of banking products and financial services.
  • Understanding of mortgages, lending products, deposits, and wealth solutions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify sales opportunities.
  • Strategic thinking to match products with client financial needs.
  • Experience in marketing and business development within the financial services industry.
