We are looking for an experienced Construction Machinery Rental Operations Manager to lead and grow a company-owned rental business while also supporting local agents in building strong rental operations across Saudi Arabia.
This is a senior, hands-on role for someone who understands heavy equipment rental end to end and is comfortable working across operations, sales, finance, and team leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Rental Business Operations
- Set up and manage the company's own construction machinery rental business.
- Oversee fleet planning, utilization, scheduling, delivery, recovery, and site coordination.
- Ensure preventive maintenance and repairs are carried out to keep equipment available and reliable.
- Manage storage yards and logistics operations.
Sales, Customers, and Contracts
- Develop rental sales strategies and grow the customer base.
- Handle rental pricing, contract negotiation, execution, and renewals.
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships and resolve issues effectively.
Financial & Risk Management
- Prepare and manage rental budgets and control operating costs.
- Track KPIs such as utilization, ROI, collections, and profitability.
- Manage collections and minimize bad debts.
- Identify and control rental-related risks, including credit and equipment risks.
- Ensure compliance with local Saudi laws, tax, and regulatory requirements.
Team Leadership
- Recruit, train, and manage rental operations teams.
- Set clear goals, monitor performance, and develop team capability.
Agent Support & Development
- Assess agents current rental capabilities and identify gaps.
- Support agents in building rental teams, systems, and processes.
- Provide training on rental operations, contracts, equipment management, and financial controls.
- Share best practices and provide on-site guidance to improve performance.
Education
- Bachelor's degree or higher in engineering, machinery, business administration, finance, marketing, or a related field.
Experience
- 5 to 7 years of experience in rental operations within construction machinery, heavy equipment, automotive, or similar industries.
- Minimum 3 years in a managerial or leadership role.
- Prior experience in Saudi Arabia or the GCC with good knowledge of local business practices, rental laws, labor regulations, and taxation.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong understanding of the full rental lifecycle: fleet planning, maintenance, contracts, pricing, cost control, and risk management.
- Solid knowledge of construction machinery such as excavators, loaders, cranes, and rollers.
- Good financial and commercial sense, including budgeting, forecasting, and KPI analysis.
- Strong communication skills in English. Arabic is a strong advantage.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to coach internal teams and support external partners.
Preferred
- Experience with major construction machinery manufacturers or their dealer networks.
- Background in building or scaling a rental business from scratch.
- Experience using rental management systems.
