Job Description

Role Overview

The Research Analyst will support investment sourcing, financial evaluation, and transaction execution by collecting investment proposals, analyzing financial and compliance documents, preparing investor-ready materials, and coordinating with multiple stakeholders. This role is ideally suited for candidates with a Chartered Accountant (CA) background or candidates pursuing/intermediate in CA, given the strong involvement in financial analysis, compliance review, due diligence coordination, and interaction with financial advisors and auditors.

The role requires strong research, financial analysis, documentation, and stakeholder management skills, with regular interaction with promoters, investors, Chartered Accountants, auditors, legal advisors, valuers, merchant bankers, and external consultants.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect, screen, and organize investment proposals across multiple sectors.
  • Analyze business models, financial statements, audit reports, valuation reports, MIS reports, and market data to support investment evaluation and decision-making.
  • Review financial, compliance, taxation, and operational documents to identify risks, gaps, and investment opportunities.
  • Prepare investment teasers, pitch decks, financial summaries, due diligence notes, and detailed investment memoranda for investors and stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with Chartered Accountants, auditors, valuers, merchant bankers, legal advisors, and compliance professionals during due diligence and transaction processes.
  • Liaise with promoters, founders, and finance teams to obtain business, financial, operational, taxation, and compliance-related information.
  • Assist in financial documentation review, data validation, and transaction execution support.
  • Schedule and coordinate meetings and video calls between promoter teams and investors while maintaining MOMs (Minutes of Meeting), follow-ups, and progress tracking.
  • Maintain organized databases of investment proposals, financial records, investor communications, compliance documents, and transaction progress.
  • Support senior management in investment research, financial analysis, investor communication, and deal execution activities.
  • Work closely with internal and external finance professionals to ensure smooth coordination and timely completion of deliverables.
Desired Candidate Profile
  • Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) or CA Intermediate candidates will be highly preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, Economics, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 2–5 years of relevant experience in investment research, financial analysis, audit, transaction advisory, consulting, corporate finance, or related fields.
  • Strong understanding of financial statements, audit processes, taxation basics, valuation concepts, compliance documentation, and due diligence activities.
  • Prior experience working with Chartered Accountants, auditors, compliance professionals, financial consultants, or investment firms will be an added advantage.
  • CFA, MBA Finance, or other financial certifications are desirable.
  • Proficiency in Excel, financial modeling, PowerPoint presentations, and financial research tools.
  • Strong analytical, documentation, and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities to interact with investors, promoters, consultants, and advisory teams.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, execution-driven environment.
  • Fluency in English; additional languages will be an advantage.
  • Passion for financial markets, investments, transaction advisory, and business analysis.
