Role Description The Research Assistant role at BEM FEB UNESA is a part-time, remote position that supports research projects within the Faculty of Economics and Business. Day-to-day tasks may include assisting with literature reviews, collecting and organizing data, preparing basic analyses under supervision, and helping to draft summaries or reports of research findings. The role may also involve coordinating with project leads, updating documentation, and maintaining clear records of research activities. Research Assistants are expected to manage deadlines, communicate progress regularly, and follow ethical and academic standards in handling information. This position offers opportunities to develop practical research skills while contributing to student and faculty initiatives.

Qualifications

Ability to conduct literature reviews, summarize academic sources, and organize references clearly and accurately.
Basic data handling skills, including collecting, cleaning, and organizing quantitative or qualitative data using common tools (e.g., spreadsheets or simple databases).
Strong written communication skills for preparing research notes, summaries, and simple reports in clear and structured English or Indonesian.
Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation, including maintaining research logs, file organization, and version control.
Time management and self-discipline to work independently in a remote setting, meet part-time schedules, and handle multiple tasks responsibly.
Ability to collaborate with student leaders, faculty supervisors, and peers, and to respond constructively to feedback.
Familiarity with basic research methods in economics, business, or social sciences is an advantage.
Enrollment in or completion of a program in Economics, Business, Management, Accounting, or a related field at Universitas Negeri Surabaya or a similar institution is preferred.
Interest in student organizations, academic development, and research-based projects within the university environment.
