About The Role

As a Process Engineer within Himalaya R&D, you will contribute to the development, optimization, and industrialization of manufacturing processes. The role focuses on translating R&D concepts into robust commercial manufacturing processes while ensuring product quality, operational efficiency, scalability, and cost-effectiveness. You will work closely with R&D, manufacturing, quality, procurement, and regional supply teams to support successful technology transfer and manufacturing performance across sites.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess manufacturing and packaging feasibility at production sites, including equipment capabilities, new machinery requirements, and product-specific technical needs.
  • Plan, coordinate, and lead laboratory, pilot, and industrial-scale trials associated with process development, scale-up, and technology transfer.
  • Support the procurement and qualification of raw materials through technical trials, evaluations, and validation activities.
  • Design and implement manufacturing processes to enhance product quality, process robustness, and scalability.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to reduce manufacturing cost, energy consumption, processing time, and operational losses without compromising quality.
  • Establish critical process parameters and relevant quality requirements to achieve consistent and reproducible product performance.
  • Coordinate technology transfer activities across manufacturing locations and provide technical guidance during implementation and troubleshooting.
  • Provide technical support to global manufacturing locations, collaborating with regional supply and operations teams on process-related requirements.
  • Assess process-related risks and develop mitigation measures using risk assessment and problem-solving methodologies.
  • Drive the successful transfer of products from R&D development through pilot scale into commercial manufacturing.
  • Execute scale-up activities and support commercial validation to demonstrate consistent process performance at production scale.
  • Prepare, review, and maintain technical documentation, SOPs, process transfer documents, trial reports, and other records in accordance with applicable quality requirements.
  • Lead troubleshooting of process challenges during scale-up and commercialization.
  • Support the Technical Department in delivering its operational priorities and strategic objectives.

Experience & Qualifications

  • B.Tech in chemical engineering, preferably with 1-5 years of relevant industry experience.
  • Practical understanding and hands-on exposure to manufacturing technologies within FMCG, pharmaceutical, or dietary supplement industries.
  • Familiarity with US FDA requirements and global GMP practices is an added advantage.
  • Prior exposure to scale-up trials, process development and validation, and technology transfer activities is preferred.
  • Good project coordination and project management capabilities.
