Department Profile:

Qatar Transportation and Traffic Safety Center was established in 2012 to address the needs and aspiration of the country in terms of road safety. Since its inception, there has been major changes in the transportation landscape of the country, which led to broadening of its scope to include transportation studies in April 2016.

QTTSC operates to meet the goals of the university and government. The output sought by Qatar University is primarily internationally sound research achievements, external research funding, research and industrial collaboration, and community service. The outcomes of these activities provide authorities with scientific evidence to inform plans and policy decision.

Duties & Responsibilities1. Contribute significantly in designing and implementation of researchmethods and protocols design safety procedures adopt new processes,techniques, or instrumentation relative to research procedures.
2. Oversee general laboratory work relevant to assigned researchproject(s) and equipment maintenance quality control analysis of reagents.
3. Collect, prepare and analyze research data conductsearch-relevant scientific literature as needed keep a detailednotebook summarizing experiments and recording research data maintain acomputer database of research data gather and disseminate datafor presentation in research conferences and for manuscriptpreparation use graphics and statistical software to analyze andpresent data.
4. Supervise students and other personnel in the laboratory tocoordinate research efforts for increased efficiency participate intraining of fellows, research assistance, students, and visitingresearch personnel as needed.
5. Produce scientific progress reports and contribute to preparingresearch and grants/funding applications.
6. Assist with ordering and procurement of supplies and equipment andwith general maintenance of laboratory.
7. Contribute to the publications outputs of QU through high impact publications.
8. Perform other research tasks and duties that may be occasionallyrequested to meet the requirements of the role and the strategic goalsof the research center.
