Research & Design Assistant (Mechanical/Marine Engineering)

Role Overview:

• We are seeking a Mechanical Engineering Research Assistant to support the academic and technical documentation for an innovative Marine Robot project. This role focuses on the theoretical, analytical, and documentation phases of the project, making it ideal for a graduate student or a detail-oriented engineer who excels at technical writing, mathematical modeling, and engineering research.

Key Responsibilities:

• Literature Review & Research: Conduct literature reviews on underwater robotics, marine propulsion, waterproofing mechanisms, and materials suited for marine environments.
• Mathematical Modeling & Equations: Assist in formulating and validating mechanical equations related to fluid dynamics, buoyancy, hydrodynamics, and structural mechanics.
• Technical Writing & Reports: Draft, format, and refine comprehensive technical reports, research papers, and progress updates.
• Design Documentation: Document 3D CAD design choices, create engineering drawings, and explain the mechanical architecture within project reports.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, Mechatronics, or a closely related field (current postgraduates or research students are highly welcome).
• Technical Writing: Exceptional skills in drafting engineering documentation, project reports, or academic research papers.
• Analytical Skills: Strong foundation in engineering mathematics, thermodynamics, and fluid mechanics equations.
• Software Proficiency: Familiarity with tools like LaTeX, Microsoft Word/Excel, and reference management software . Basic understanding of CAD software (SolidWorks/Fusion 360) to interpret designs is required.
• Traits: Highly organized, meticulous with data, and capable of synthesizing complex technical concepts into clear writing.
