Research Intern

About the Role

As a Research Intern at MTRI, you'll help push AI research forward and turn it into practical solutions for high-impact, compliance-driven fields. Together with our research scientists, you'll run experiments, build and test models, and support proof-of-concept (PoC) projects that bring research into real workflows. Interns are also encouraged to contribute to publications at leading AI conferences and journals, making this a valuable chance to gain hands-on experience and grow your research profile.

Whether you're pursuing Ph.D. in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a related field, or have conducted research leading to publications, conference presentations, or innovative prototypes, we'd love to hear from you. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct research on Natural Language Processing, Retrieval-Augmented Generation, Vision-Language Models, and related AI fields;
• Follows SOPs and implement, test, benchmark models and algorithms under the guidance of senior researchers;
• Support the design and development of proof-of-concepts (PoCs) ;
• Conduct literature reviews, prepare datasets, run experiments, and contribute to analysis of results;
• Collaborate with the research team to draft reports, presentations, and potential publications;
• Uphold research ethics, data privacy, and compliance standards in all projects.

We'd love to hear from you if you meet at least one of the following:

• You're currently pursuing (or have recently completed) a Ph.D. in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a related field.
• You have prior experience in academic research, with publications in conferences or journals.
