KINDI is a research center in the college of engineering that was recently being restructured to conduct world-class multidisciplinary applied research, with emphasis on key areas of embodied intelligence, novel interactive systems, robotics and automation. As part of QU, KINDI is research center is supported by the college of engineering and QU to excel in applied research, and thereby allocated sufficient resources and facilities to achieve its aspiration of becoming a regional leader of cutting-edge applied R&D.

Position Summary:

The KINDI Research Center is seeking a highly motivated Research Scientist specializing in Embodied Intelligence and Robotics. The selected candidate will lead a world-class research program, develop and evaluate embodied robotic systems, and contribute to high-impact publications in top-tier venues such as CoRL, RSS, NeurIPS, CVPR, ICLR, ICRA, and IROS.

This role involves building and supervising multidisciplinary research teams, mentoring undergraduate and graduate students, teaching graduate-level courses, and delivering technical workshops. The candidate will also lead technical demonstrations, secure competitive research funding, and establish strong collaborations with academic and industry partners.This position offers a unique opportunity to shape innovative research, contribute to global scientific advancement, and support KINDI's mission of excellence.

.Lead a worldclass research program in Embodied Intelligence,

.Design, develop, and experimentally evaluate embodied robotic prototypes and interactive systems that leverage commercial robotic platforms

.Produce highimpact research published in leading CoRL, RSS, NeurIPS, CVPR, ICLR, ICRA, IROS, etc..

.Lead the creation of technical demonstrations showcasing embodied robotics capabilities in local and international forums.

.Build and lead multidisciplinary teams of students, junior researchers, and senior researchers.

.Supervise BSc, MSc, and PhD students, fostering world-class research outcomes.

.Set strategic research directions and manage lab personnel and resources.

.Teach one graduate course per academic semester in their area of expertise.

.Publish high-impact research in top-tier international academic conferences and journals.

.Deliver technical workshops and seminars for industrial and academic audiences.

.Promote partnerships and collaboration with local and international organizations and industry partners.

.Represent KINDI at global events, symposiums, and demonstrations.

.Secure and manage research grants from national and international agencies.

Academic

1. A three-year renewable contract.

2. Salary is commensurate with experience.
