Job Summary:
The Resident Computing Engineer is responsible for delivering technical services related to enterprise computing infrastructure at customer premises. The role includes implementing, integrating, administering, monitoring, troubleshooting, and supporting enterprise infrastructure solutions while ensuring high-quality service delivery and customer satisfaction.
The engineer will work closely with implementation teams and project managers to deploy and maintain virtualization, backup, and Microsoft infrastructure solutions, ensuring system availability, performance, and operational excellence.
Accountability & Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and support enterprise computing infrastructure solutions.
- Deploy and manage Dell VxRail infrastructure.
- Install, configure, and administer VMware ESXi, vCenter, and NSX environments.
- Configure and manage Exa Grid Storage solutions.
- Install, configure, and maintain Veeam Backup & Replication (On-Premises & Cloud).
- Administer Microsoft infrastructure services, including:
- Active Directory
- DNS
- DHCP
- Group Policy (GPO)
- WSUS
- Manage VxRail hosts, virtual machines, and virtualization resources.
- Monitor infrastructure health, system performance, and storage utilization.
- Perform preventive maintenance and health checks on servers, storage, and virtualization platforms.
- Troubleshoot hardware issues related to servers and storage systems.
- Troubleshoot software issues related to VMware, Microsoft infrastructure, and backup solutions.
- Create and maintain infrastructure and network diagrams using Microsoft Visio.
- Prepare technical documentation, implementation reports, and As-Built documentation.
- Provide technical recommendations and guidance regarding infrastructure improvements.
- Support implementation activities and coordinate with Project Managers during project execution.
- Follow up and update customer service requests through internal ticketing systems.
- Ensure compliance with company standards, security policies, and customer requirements.
- Deliver professional technical support while maintaining high customer satisfaction
Required Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Information Technology, or an equivalent discipline.
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Systems Engineer or Infrastructure Engineer.
- Hands-on experience with:
- Dell VxRail
- VMware ESXi
- VMware vCenter
- VMware NSX
- Veeam Backup & Replication
- Microsoft Domain Controller
- Strong knowledge of:
- Active Directory
- DNS
- DHCP
- Group Policy (GPO)
- WSUS
- Good understanding of virtualization technologies and enterprise infrastructure.
- Basic network troubleshooting skills.
- Basic knowledge of project management concepts.
- Experience working within technical implementation and support teams.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Visio for creating infrastructure and network diagrams.
