Job Description

Summary

We areseekinga highly experienced and meticulous Resident Electrical Engineer to provide expert on-site technical oversight and quality assurance for a large-scale construction project. The successful candidate willbe responsible forensuring that all on-site electrical activities are executed safely, on schedule, and in strict accordance with the project's design specifications, quality standards, and regulatory codes. This role serves as the key technical authority on-site for all electrical works, from design validation through to final commissioning and handover.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform detailed reviews of electrical designs, drawings, plans, and specifications to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project requirements and industry standards.
  • Manage the review and approval of contractor submittals, including shop drawings, material data, and method statements, ensuring they meet design intent.
  • Identifyand proactively resolve conflicts between design documents and existing site conditions, coordinating clarifications with design consultants, contractors, and the client.
  • Oversee all on-site electrical installation activities, ensuring strict adherence to approved drawings, Project TechnicalSpecifications,and relevant codes.
  • Implement and manage the quality control program,conductingroutine inspections andvalidatingthat all materials, tools, and equipment meet project quality standards.
  • Identify, document, and track non-conformances and quality incidents, and verify the effective implementation of all corrective and preventive actions.
  • Ensure all workcomplies withsafety, quality, and environmental management procedures, promoting a culture of continuous improvement on-site.
  • Lead andwitnessthe testing and commissioning of all electrical systems to ensure they meet specified operational and performance criteria.
  • Develop and execute final inspection checklists and procedures for project closeout.
  • Manage the project handover process by preparing, tracking, and ensuring thetimelycloseout of all punch list items and snags.
  • Prepare and organize all final quality-related documentationrequiredfor project completion.
  • Serve as the primary on-site point of contact for all electrical matters, attending progress, quality, and issue-resolution meetings.
  • Prepare andsubmitcomprehensive weekly progress reports, inspection records, and other required documentation to the client's office and PMO.
  • Attend and formally respond to all inspection requestssubmittedby the contractorin a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with the project team to develop corrective action plans for any work that deviates from approved plans and specifications.
  • Assistin project management activities, including planning, scheduling, and resource allocation for electrical works.
  • Contribute to the functional development of the Project Management Office (PMO) by helping toestablishnew technical processes and standards.
  • Activelyparticipatein value engineering initiatives toidentifyopportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements without compromising quality or safety.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering.
  • A minimum of8-10 years of professional experiencein a construction environment.
  • Mandatory experience inboth electrical design and construction supervision/consulting.
  • A minimum of4 years of experience working in Saudi Arabiaisrequired.
  • Strong knowledge of applicable codes and standards, with specificexpertisein theSaudi Building Code (SBC).
  • Experience withhigh-rise building projectsis a significant asset.
  • Demonstratedproficiencyin project management principles, including estimating, planning/scheduling, cost control, and risk management.
  • Knowledge of the real estate development lifecycle.
  • Excellent problem-solving, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Strong advocacy for standardized processes and governance.
  • Fluency in both written and spokenEnglish and Arabicis mandatory
