Resident Engineer

Khatib & Alami is seeking an experienced Resident Engineer to join our Dubai Infrastructure team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the execution, supervision, quality, and progress of major infrastructure and road projects in Dubai.

The role requires strong experience in Dubai-based infrastructure projects, with proven capability in managing contractors, coordinating with stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with project specifications and Dubai Municipality requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the supervision of infrastructure and road construction works.
• Ensure construction activities are executed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, contracts, and project requirements.
• Monitor project progress, quality, safety, and compliance with approved schedules.
• Review contractor submissions, method statements, material approvals, shop drawings, and inspection requests.
• Coordinate with the client, contractor, consultant teams, authorities, and other project stakeholders.
• Identify and resolve technical and construction-related issues on site.
• Monitor contractor performance and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
• Conduct regular site inspections and ensure quality standards are maintained.
• Review and monitor project schedules, progress reports, and construction programs.
• Ensure all works comply with applicable Dubai Municipality (DM) requirements and relevant local standards.
• Manage and coordinate multidisciplinary site activities.
• Provide technical guidance and leadership to the supervision team.
• Prepare and review site reports, progress updates, and project documentation.
• Support the Project Manager in managing project risks, delays, variations, and technical matters.

Mandatory Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• 15+ years of relevant professional experience in infrastructure and road projects.
• Strong and recent Dubai/UAE infrastructure and road project experience.
• Previous experience working as a Resident Engineer on major infrastructure/road projects.
• Valid Dubai Municipality (DM) approval is mandatory.
• Strong knowledge of Dubai infrastructure standards, specifications, and authority requirements.
• Proven experience in contractor and construction supervision.
• Strong communication, coordination, and leadership skills.

Preferred Experience

• Experience with Emaar infrastructure/road projects in Dubai.
• Experience managing large-scale infrastructure and road construction projects.
• Previous consultancy experience in a Resident Engineer or similar senior supervision role.
