Job Description

Job Vacancy: Resident Engineer

Location: UAE (Site-Based)

Contract Type: Full-Time

NEXA Engineering Consulting is looking for a highly experienced Resident Engineer to oversee real estate development projects.

Job Summary:

Manage the full construction lifecyclefrom mobilization through handover and Defects Liability Period (DLP). Ensure project delivery on time, within scope, and meeting quality, safety, and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Construction Stage:

Lead site supervision and multidisciplinary teams.

Monitor progress, quality, and HSE compliance.

Approve materials, shop drawings, and method statements.

Respond to RFIs, issue site instructions and NCRs.

Manage FIDIC-based contracts, claims, and variations.

Conduct reviews, risk mitigation, and reporting.

Maintain communication with internal teams and Employer.

Handover & Close-Out:

Supervise testing, commissioning, and final inspections.

Review as-built drawings, O&M manuals, and certifications.

Ensure technical handover to Facilities Management.

Finalize documentation and close-out reports.

Defects Liability Period:

Follow up on snags and contractor performance.

Manage final inspections and retention release.

Qualifications & Experience:

Bachelor's degree in civil engineering.

Minimum 15 years relevant experience in UAE/GCC real estate projects.

At least 5 years as Resident Engineer.

PMP certification preferred.

Strong knowledge of FIDIC contracts and UAE regulations.

Proficient in Primavera P6 and MS Project.

Excellent English communication skills; Arabic a plus.
