Role Description
The resident structural engineer will be responsible for supervising, coordinating, and ensuring the proper execution ofstructural remedial works, repair, and strengthening of reinforced concrete structureson-site.
- Supervise daily site activities related tostructural repair, rehabilitation, and strengthening of concrete elements.
- Concrete crack repair (epoxy injection, stitching)
- Concrete patch repair and reinstatement
- Structural jacketing (RC jacketing or steel jacketing)
- Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymer (CFRP) strengthening
- Structural grouting
- Corrosion protection and cathodic protection systems
- Replacement of deteriorated structural components
- Verify contractor compliance withapproved shop drawings, method statements, and material specifications.
- Review and approveInspection Requests (IRs)andMaterial Submittals.
- Coordinate with structural design engineers, contractors, subcontractors, and client representatives.
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of:
- Structural behavior of reinforced concrete
- Concrete deterioration mechanisms
- Repair materials and strengthening systems
- Familiarity with:
- Structural drawings and retrofit design
- Non-destructive testing (NDT)
- Structural monitoring methods
Qualifications
- Proficiency in Structural Engineering and Civil Engineering principles and practices.
- Strong skills in Structural supervision and assessments.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering is required.
- Previous experience in structural assessment, rehabilitation, and strengthening projects is advantageous.
- Familiarity with construction codes, safety regulations, and best practices in structural engineering.
