Job Purpose:
The Retail Collections Support Officer is responsible for managing collection cases that require legal action. This job bridges the gap between a standard Collections Officer and an in-house Legal Counsel, focusing on litigation related to debt recovery.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Ensure timely filing and release of execution cases for all SAM accounts.
- Follow-up with external empaneled firms regarding the case information and details.
- Liaise with in-house legal counsel on the filing of civil cases and foreclosures by providing the necessary documents and follow up on case progress.
- Maintain a record of all legal cases filed and released under SAM.
- Check and verify invoices pertaining to professional fees of the empaneled law firm as per the engagements agreed and signed by the Legal Department.
- Reconcile law firm payouts on a monthly basis.
- Handle any distressed restructuring requests for delinquent borrowers and submit proposals for approval.
- Extract AECB reports as and when required by Collection Officers for the purposes of settlement and/or restructuring negotiations.
- Vet and reconcile AECB invoices pertaining to SAM on a monthly basis.
- Act as Operational Risk Champion for SAM Retail.
- Ensure timely submission of RCSA testing on a quarterly basis.
- Timely reporting and filing of risk events for SAM.
- Act as casual relief for Retail Collections Officers.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (i.e. accounting, business, commerce, law)
- Minimum 3 years in a similar position
- Sound understanding of CBUAE regulations and CPR.
- Good communication skills
