Retail Director

Role Description This part-time, remote Retail Director role is responsible for overseeing retail strategy, daily operations, and performance across assigned locations or channels. The Retail Director will guide store or channel leadership to meet sales targets, optimize customer experience, and ensure consistent execution of retail standards and policies. Day-to-day tasks include monitoring key performance indicators, reviewing budgets and forecasts, supporting inventory and merchandising decisions, and collaborating with cross-functional teams such as marketing, finance, and customer service. The role also involves coaching and mentoring managers, leading regular performance reviews, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and profitability. The Retail Director will use data-driven insights to recommend adjustments in staffing, promotions, and operational processes while maintaining clear communication with senior leadership.
Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in retail environments, with a strong understanding of customer service, merchandising, and store or channel performance.
• Proven team management skills, including leading, coaching, and developing managers and frontline team members.
• Solid background in sales, with the ability to set targets, analyze results, and implement strategies to improve revenue and conversion.
• Experience in operations management and budgeting, including cost control, resource planning, and financial reporting.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with proficiency in using data and retail metrics to inform decisions.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and conflict-resolution abilities in a remote work environment.
• Comfort with digital tools and retail management software; proficiency in spreadsheets and presentation tools.
• Relevant education in business, retail management, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
