Position Purpose
We are seeking a talented and experienced Project Manager to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the design and layout of our retail stores, as well as managing the visual merchandising strategies to enhance the overall customer experience. The ideal candidate will possess a strong creative vision, exceptional project management skills, and a deep understanding of retail design and visual merchandising principles.
Responsibilities:
Store Design and Layout:
- In partnership with our store design agency work on development and implement innovative store design concepts that align with our brand identity and target market.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including external design agency and contractors, to ensure the successful execution of store design projects.
- Conduct site visits and assessments to evaluate store locations and provide recommendations for optimizing space utilization.
- Create detailed store layouts, including fixtures, displays, and signage, to maximize product visibility and drive sales.
Visual Merchandising:
- Develop and execute compelling visual merchandising strategies that showcase our products and enhance the overall customer experience.
- Create planograms and guidelines for product placement, ensuring optimal product assortment, category management, and cross-selling opportunities.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to align visual merchandising efforts with promotional campaigns and seasonal initiatives.
- Stay updated on industry trends and competitor analysis to continuously improve visual merchandising techniques.
Project Management:
- Manage end-to-end store design projects, from conceptualization to implementation, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
- Coordinate with external vendors, contractors, and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth execution of store construction, fixture installation, and visual merchandising set-up.
- Create snag reports to ensure sites/ stores built in line with design plans and high quality.
- Conduct regular project status meetings and provide progress reports to senior management.
- Identify and mitigate any potential risks or challenges that may impact project delivery.
- Manage all aspects of store maintenance.
Team Leadership and Development:
- Partnership with landlord design and mall operations teams to ensure successful launches of pop-up and permanent stores.
- Foster a collaborative and creative work environment, encouraging innovation and continuous improvement.
- Conduct performance evaluations and develop training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of team members.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Retail Design, Interior Design, Visual Merchandising, or a related field.
- Proven experience in retail store design and visual merchandising, with a minimum of 2 years in a managerial role.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating successful store design projects and visual merchandising initiatives.
- Proficiency in design software (e.g., AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite) and planogram software.
- In-depth knowledge of retail industry trends, consumer behavior, and visual merchandising best practices.
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong hands on leadership and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Detail-oriented mindset with a keen eye for aesthetics and attention to product presentation.
- Ability to travel to store locations as required.
