Job Summary:
To manage, record, and control sales return transactions accurately, ensuring compliance with company policies and maintaining accurate financial and inventory records.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review, verify, and record customer sales returns accurately and in a timely manner.
- Match returned items with original sales invoices and approved return policies.
- Coordinate with Sales, Warehouse, and Customer Service teams to confirm physical receipt ofreturned items.
- Update inventory balances related to returned goods in the system.
- Process customer refunds or issue credit notes as required.
- Prepare periodic reports on returns, including quantities, values, and reasons for returns.
- Analyze return trends and report findings to management to help reduce return rates.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting standards, and company procedures.
- Participate in inventory counts and reconciliation related to returns.
- Work with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar).
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 13 years of accounting experience, preferably in the Retail industry.
- Good knowledge of sales, returns, and inventory accounting cycles.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
- Solid understanding of accounting entries and reconciliations.
