Job Title: Rewinding Technician – Electric Motors

We are looking for a highly skilled and detail-oriented Rewinding Technician with proven experience in electric motor repair, rewinding, and maintenance. The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise in diagnosing faults, executing high-quality rewinding work, and ensuring optimal performance of electrical equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out complete rewinding of AC/DC motors, transformers, and coils (LV/MV motors preferred)
  • Perform dismantling, inspection, fault identification, and root cause analysis of motors
  • Remove old windings, clean stators/rotors, and prepare components for rewinding
  • Execute coil winding, armature winding, and insulation work as per standards
  • Conduct varnishing, baking, and curing processes to ensure durability and performance
  • Reassemble motors and perform alignment, balancing, and testing
  • Use testing equipment such as megger, multimeter, surge tester, and winding resistance tester
  • Interpret technical drawings, winding diagrams, and specifications
  • Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical faults efficiently
  • Maintain proper documentation of repairs, materials used, and test results
  • Ensure strict compliance with HSE and quality standards in the workshop/site
  • Coordinate with supervisors and engineers to meet project timelines

Requirements:

  • Minimum 4–6 years of hands-on experience in motor rewinding and repair
  • Strong knowledge of AC/DC motors, generators, and industrial equipment
  • Expertise in coil winding techniques, insulation materials, and slot filling
  • Familiarity with LV/MV motors (experience with high voltage motors is an advantage)
  • Ability to read and understand winding data sheets and electrical schematics
  • Experience working with maintenance teams in industrial, construction, or utility environments
  • Diploma / ITI in Electrical, Electromechanical, or relevant discipline

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in substation, utilities, or large industrial projects
  • Knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance practices
  • Exposure to international standards and safety procedures
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple repair tasks
