Role Overview:
The Risk Director will oversee and manage the company's risk management program, ensuring that risks are identified, assessed, and mitigated in alignment with the organization's goals and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in risk management, including operational, financial, and strategic risks, with the ability to develop and lead risk management frameworks, policies, and processes. This position reports directly to senior leadership and the board of directors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive risk management strategy that aligns with the company's objectives.
- Identify, assess, and monitor key risks across all areas of the business, including operational, financial, regulatory, strategic, and reputational risks.
- Develop and maintain risk management frameworks, tools, and processes to effectively identify and mitigate risks.
- Work closely with senior leadership to assess the potential impact of risks on business strategy and operational performance.
- Provide guidance on risk-related matters to ensure appropriate decision-making and risk mitigation at all levels of the organization.
- Prepare and present detailed reports on risk exposures, risk trends, and mitigation strategies to the executive team and board of directors.
- Lead the risk assessment process, including periodic reviews and audits of existing controls, procedures, and policies.
- Establish and manage risk response plans to address high-priority risks, ensuring that mitigation actions are implemented in a timely and effective manner.
- Provide oversight and guidance on compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards related to risk management.
- Foster a risk-aware culture across the organization through training, workshops, and awareness campaigns.
- Manage and mentor a team of risk professionals, ensuring continuous professional development and team effectiveness.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including auditors, legal teams, and regulatory bodies, to enhance risk management processes.
