About Owlera

Owlera is an AI-powered career platform that helps students and fresh graduates gain practical experience through internship simulations inspired by real companies.

Participants work on realistic business challenges, receive AI-powered feedback, use modern professional tools, and build portfolio-ready projects that demonstrate their abilities to future employers.

We're looking for driven, analytical, and risk-conscious students to join our Risk Management Internship and gain hands-on experience in the risk work behind real financial decisions.

About the Internship

As a Risk Management Intern, you'll do realistic risk management work inspired by real financial institutions: identifying credit, market, and operational risks, building risk assessment frameworks, running stress tests, and recommending controls backed by data.

You'll learn how risk professionals protect capital by turning risk data, scenarios, and regulatory expectations into clear, defensible risk decisions.

Responsibilities

* Identify and categorize credit, market, liquidity, and operational risks for mock portfolios and companies.

* Build risk registers and risk assessment matrices for mock business scenarios.

* Perform quantitative risk analysis: Value-at-Risk (VaR), expected shortfall, and scenario-based loss estimates.

* Run stress tests on mock portfolios under adverse market scenarios.

* Analyze the creditworthiness of mock borrowers using financial ratios and scoring models.

* Monitor mock portfolio concentration and recommend diversification limits.

* Assess counterparty risk and settlement exposure in mock transactions.

* Build early-warning indicators and risk dashboards for mock risk committees.

* Evaluate operational risk events and design control improvements.

* Analyze liquidity risk through cash-flow projections and funding-gap analysis.

* Model credit-loss scenarios under bull, base, and bear economic conditions.

* Research regulatory risk frameworks (Basel-style capital concepts) and apply them to mock cases.

* Review mock compliance findings and track remediation actions.

* Assess market risk factors: interest rate, FX, and commodity exposure for mock portfolios.

* Build anomaly-detection checks on mock transaction data to flag fraud-style patterns.

* Document risk policies, limits, and escalation procedures for mock institutions.

* Present risk assessments and mitigation recommendations to stakeholders with supporting evidence.

* Track risk incidents and maintain lessons-learned logs for mock organizations.

* Use AI tools to accelerate data analysis, report drafting, and scenario modeling.

* Prepare risk committee-style summary reports in professional format.

Requirements

* Current student or recent graduate in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.

* Strong interest in risk management, financial stability, and how institutions protect capital.

* Analytical, detail-oriented, and comfortable working with data and uncertainty.

* Strong spreadsheet skills (Excel or Google Sheets); formulas a must, modeling experience a plus.

* Good written and verbal communication skills, including explaining complex risks clearly.

* Ability to build a clear, logical risk argument from raw data.

* Interest in how banks and firms measure and manage credit, market, and operational risk.

* Familiarity with financial statements and basic statistics is a plus but not required.

* Familiarity with AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or similar platforms is a plus.

* Previous professional finance experience is not required.

What You'll Gain

* Hands-on experience doing risk management work like real risk analysts.

* Practical experience building risk registers, stress tests, and scenario models.

* Experience writing risk committee reports and mitigation recommendations.

* Understanding of credit, market, liquidity, and operational risk frameworks.

* Experience presenting risk assessments with supporting evidence.

* Understanding of regulatory risk concepts and capital adequacy basics.

* Practical exposure to risk dashboards and early-warning indicators.

* Experience using AI and modern risk-analysis tools.

* Portfolio-ready risk management projects.

* Personalized AI feedback on your work.

* Professional certificate upon successful completion.

* Mentorship and weekly learning sessions.

* Opportunity to strengthen your portfolio, resume, and interview readiness.
