About the Role
Line Two is supporting a confidential, reputable bank in the UAE to hire a Risk Officer. The role supports the bank's risk management framework by monitoring risk exposures, maintaining risk registers and reporting, and helping implement controls and risk governance across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the bank's risk management activities, including risk identification, assessment, and monitoring across business units.
- Maintain and update risk registers, action plans, and controls documentation; follow up on remediation activities.
- Assist with RCSA (Risk & Control Self-Assessments), including facilitation, documentation, and tracking outcomes.
- Monitor KRIs (Key Risk Indicators) and prepare periodic risk dashboards/management reports (MI).
- Support incident/loss event logging, root-cause analysis coordination, and lessons-learned tracking.
- Assist with third-party/vendor risk assessments and ongoing monitoring where applicable.
- Contribute to policy/procedure updates and ensure alignment with internal governance requirements.
- Provide support during internal/external audits and regulatory reviews by preparing evidence packs and responding to requests.
- Collaborate with Compliance, Internal Audit, and business stakeholders to strengthen the control environment.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, Risk, Economics, or a related discipline.
- Experience in banking risk (operational risk / enterprise risk / risk governance / controls) is preferred.
- Strong understanding of core risk concepts (risk appetite, controls, KRIs, incident management, governance).
- Strong documentation and report-writing skills; high attention to detail.
- Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills; ability to turn data into clear insights.
- Professional communication skills in English (Arabic is a plus).
Preferred / Nice to Have
- Exposure to frameworks/standards such as COSO and/or ISO 31000.
- Experience with risk systems/tools (GRC platforms) or structured risk reporting.
- Certifications (or progress toward): FRM / PRM / CRM / ICA / CIA.
