Job Description

Hays is partnering with a leading bank in Dubai, which is looking to appoint a Risk Manager to join its Risk Management function.

Role Overview

This position sits within the bank's centralised risk management structure, overseeing enterprise-wide credit, market, operational, and compliance risk. The successful candidate will lead due diligence processes, portfolio risk monitoring, and the implementation of the bank's risk management framework.

This is an additional headcount within the team, working alongside the Head of Risk and other senior risk professionals, supporting strategic risk oversight and regulatory compliance across the bank.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead due diligence for credit projects, conducting full risk evaluations and drafting corresponding due diligence reports.
  • Provide final risk assessments and recommendations in line with the bank's risk appetite and credit policy.
  • Conduct macroeconomic analysis to inform risk management strategies and monitor portfolio risk concentrations.
  • Supervise credit asset management and manage key risks, including credit, market, operational, compliance, legal, and country risks.
  • Lead the development and execution of the bank's enterprise risk management framework, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee the implementation of risk protocols, operational procedures, and internal control frameworks.
  • Act as the primary liaison with regulators and corporate headquarters.
  • Prepare and submit timely risk reports to internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of overseas experience in the financial industry.
  • Master's degree or higher in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • Professional qualifications such as CFA, CPA, FRM, is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Mandarin, both written and spoken.
  • Strong understanding of financial markets, banking regulations, and risk management practices.
  • Familiarity with UAE regulatory requirements and best practices in risk management.
  • Strong analytical, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage cross-functional collaboration.
