Job Description

Risk Manager – Hospitality Construction Projects (Mega & Giga Projects)

Role Purpose

Lead and manage the project risk management function for large-scale hospitality developments, ensuring proactive identification, assessment, mitigation, monitoring, and reporting of risks across design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover phases. The role supports informed decision-making to protect project objectives related to cost, schedule, quality, safety, and operational readiness.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain project risk management plans, frameworks, and risk registers.
  • Facilitate risk identification workshops and lead qualitative and quantitative risk assessments.
  • Monitor and manage strategic, commercial, contractual, schedule, cost, construction, procurement, and stakeholder risks.
  • Lead Schedule Risk Analysis (SRA), Cost Risk Analysis (CRA), and Quantitative Risk Analysis (QRA), including Monte Carlo simulations.
  • Track mitigation actions, emerging risks, and opportunities, ensuring timely escalation of critical issues.
  • Prepare executive-level risk reports, dashboards, and presentations.
  • Collaborate with project controls, commercial, engineering, and delivery teams to integrate risk management into project execution.
  • Support claims avoidance, contingency management, and project recovery strategies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or related discipline.
  • Professional certification such as PMI-RMP, PMP, AACE, or ISO 31000 preferred.
  • 15+ years of experience in major construction projects, including at least 7 years in dedicated risk management roles.
  • Mandatory experience on mega/giga projects and luxury hospitality, hotel, resort, mixed-use, or destination developments.
  • Strong expertise in QRA, SRA, CRA, risk governance, project controls, and commercial risk management.
  • Proficiency in Primavera P6, Primavera Risk Analysis/Safran Risk, and Power BI.
