Job Description

Job Purpose:

Develops, maintains techniques, and programs, and applies expertise to support reliability for rotating equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

Performs the activities, may include but not limited to:

  • Supports and implements rotating equipment mechanical integrity initiatives. Monitors mechanical integrity of rotating equipment to drive improvements and corrective actions.
  • Develops inspection procedures and establishes routine monitoring programs for each piece of equipment.
  • Develops equipment maintenance strategies, repair/spares strategies, and influence equipment standards for rotating equipment.
  • Facilitates bad actor, downtime and root cause analysis related to rotating equipment. Confirms implementation and effectiveness of countermeasures developed.
  • Ensures that internal and external planned (PM order) and unplanned inspections are conducted.
  • Investigates applications of present and new techniques, analytical, instrumentation, etc., for detecting and diagnosing mechanical problems, including signature vibration analysis, monitoring of large rotating machinery, and analyzing reciprocating compressors.
  • Performs failure analysis on rotating equipment to determine root causes of failures. Applies technical expertise in choosing the essential cost of failures, estimates costs and effectiveness of alternative solutions. Recommends corrective expenditures based on overall profitability
  • Performs vibration analysis to evaluate the mechanical condition of rotating equipment and analyze vibration-related faults.
  • Leads the conducting of Turnaround inspections according to the job list and scope of work prepared before shutdowns.
  • Recommends and implements upgrades/modifications to equipment to increase reliability and reduce maintenance cost and operating issues
  • Analyzes predictive maintenance data and initiates follow-on corrective work.
  • Develops, reviews data, and reports out on key performance indicators.
  • Frames up sound and economically viable repair vs. replacement recommendations.
  • Provides input into the development of rotating equipment reliability strategies.
  • Reviews Management of Change documentation relating to rotating equipment to ensure mechanical integrity considerations are properly addressed.
  • Performs calculations to determine the remaining life of rotating equipment.
  • Strictly follows established environmental, health, safety and quality policies and procedures in order to guarantee employee safety, legislative compliance, delivery of high-quality products/services and a responsible environmental attitude.
  • Undertakes accountabilities in the operational excellence process as set out in the schedule of responsibilities.
  • Contributes to the processes of continuous improvement for the area assigned.
  • Performs any other relevant task as directed by Superintendent Rotating Equipment Reliability.

Qualifications:

  • Academic Qualification: Holds a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Years of Experience: 3 - 5 years.

  • Machine Lubrication Analyst
  • Machinery Vibration Analysis (MVA) CAT II
