Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Local Purchaser to manage the sourcing and procurement of materials, equipment, and services within Saudi Arabia for oil & gas operations. The role focuses on local vendor management, cost control, and ensuring timely supply in compliance with company policies and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Source and procure materials, spare parts, and services from local suppliers within KSA
- Handle urgent and routine purchase requests for oil & gas operations
- Identify and develop reliable local vendors in compliance with company standards
- Negotiate pricing, delivery timelines, and payment terms with suppliers
- Prepare RFQs (Requests for Quotation), evaluate bids, and issue purchase orders
- Ensure timely delivery of materials to sites, warehouses, or projects
- Coordinate with logistics, warehouse, and operations teams
- Maintain accurate procurement records and supplier databases
- Monitor supplier performance and resolve delivery or quality issues
- Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and Saudi regulations
- Support Saudization and local content requirements (e.g., IKTVA compliance if applicable)
Requirements
- Proven experience in procurement within the oil & gas or industrial sector in KSA
- Strong knowledge of local supplier market and materials used in oil & gas (pipes, valves, fittings, electrical items, etc.)
- Good understanding of procurement processes and documentation (RFQ, LPO, contracts)
- Strong negotiation and communication skills
- Ability to handle urgent and high-pressure purchasing requirements
- Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar)
- Fluent in English; Arabic is a strong advantage
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, or Engineering
- 37 years of local procurement experience in Saudi Arabia
- Experience working with major oil & gas companies (e.g., Saudi Aramco, EPC contractors)
- Knowledge of IKTVA and local content programs
Working Conditions
- Primarily office-based with frequent visits to local suppliers and markets
- May require travel within different regions of Saudi Arabia
