About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Safety Engineer to join our team in Alexandria. The ideal candidate will be responsible for implementing, maintaining, and continuously improving our safety systems and ensuring full compliance with local and international standards. This role requires an individual who can work effectively in a fastpaced, multicultural environment and demonstrate strong leadership in safety practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and monitor Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies and procedures.
- Conduct regular risk assessments, safety inspections, and audits across the facility.
- Perform contractor inspections to ensure compliance with site safety standards and permit conditions.
- Conduct PTW (Permit-to-Work) audits and ensure strict adherence to the PTW system.
- Inspect and verify the safety of scaffolding structures, ensuring compliance with international scaffolding standards.
- Ensure compliance with Egyptian Labor Law, local regulatory requirements, and international HSE standards (OSHA, ISO 45001, NFPA, etc.).
- Investigate incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions; prepare reports and corrective action plans.
- Deliver HSE training, toolbox talks, and awareness sessions for employees and contractors.
- Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to enhance safety culture and ensure safe work practices.
- Maintain accurate documentation of all safetyrelated activities, permits, and certifications.
- Participate in emergency response planning and lead safety drills.
Qualifications & Professional Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Science, Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial, or related field).
- Minimum 57 years experience in a similar role, preferably within a multinational or large industrial environment.
- Strong knowledge of occupational safety standards (OSHA, ISO 45001, NFPA, etc.).
- Proven experience with risk assessment methodologies and incident investigation tools.
- Solid understanding of Egyptian health & safety regulations.
- Professional certifications are a strong plus (NEBOSH IGC, OSHA, IOSH, First Aid, Firefighting).
- Excellent communication and reporting skills.
- Ability to deliver training and influence safety culture at all levels.
- High attention to detail, strong analytical mindset, and problemsolving skills.
- Fluent in English; strong skills working in a multicultural environment.
- Must reside in Alexandria or be willing to relocate.
