Job Title: Safety Officer
Department: Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)
Location: All cities of Saudi Arabia
Role Purpose:
The Safety Officer is responsible for monitoring site activities and promoting a safe working environment by implementing approved HSE plans, procedures, risk controls, and client requirements. The role supports accident prevention, workforce awareness, regulatory compliance, incident reporting, and the timely correction of unsafe acts and conditions across construction project sites.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
• Conduct routine site safety inspections and immediately report unsafe acts, unsafe conditions, and non-compliance with approved HSE requirements.
• Ensure workers and subcontractors comply with personal protective equipment requirements, safe work procedures, and site access controls.
• Deliver site inductions, toolbox talks, safety briefings, and awareness sessions for employees and subcontractor personnel.
• Review and monitor risk assessments, job safety analyses, method statements, and permit-to-work requirements before high-risk activities begin.
• Monitor excavation, lifting, scaffolding, hot work, confined-space, electrical, work-at-height, and other high-risk construction activities.
• Report incidents, near misses, property damage, and environmental events, and support investigations and corrective action follow-up until closure.
• Inspect emergency equipment, fire extinguishers, access routes, welfare facilities, and first-aid arrangements, and support emergency drills.
• Maintain HSE inspection records, training logs, observations, incident statistics, and daily, weekly, and monthly safety reports.
•Coordinate with project management, client representatives, consultants, and subcontractors to resolve HSE concerns and improve site safety performance.
Job Requirements:
• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum two years of relevant experience as a Safety Officer in construction projects.
• OSHA certification is mandatory.
• NEBOSH certification is preferred.
• Good knowledge of construction hazards, risk assessment, permit-to-work systems, emergency response, and incident reporting.
• Good command of English, both spoken and written, with strong communication and reporting skills.
