The Sales Account Manager Public Sector is responsible for developing and maintaining strong relationships with government and public sector clients. The role focuses on driving sales, understanding client needs, delivering tailored solutions, and achieving revenue targets. This position is ideal for professionals with experience in IT, technology, or solutions sales targeting public institutions.
Responsibilities
- Client Relationship Management:
Build and maintain strong relationships with government and public sector clients.
Act as the primary contact for assigned accounts, understanding their objectives and challenges.
Address client inquiries and resolve issues promptly.
Manage assigned accounts, ensuring timely delivery of solutions and services.
Identify opportunities for account growth, upselling, and cross-selling.
Maintain accurate account information in CRM systems.
- Sales Strategy Execution:
Support the implementation of sales strategies for the public sector.
Prepare proposals, quotations, and presentations for client opportunities.
Track sales performance against targets and provide regular updates to management.
- Market Research & Competitor Analysis:
Monitor public sector market trends and opportunities.
Provide insights into competitor offerings and potential market gaps.
Maintain accurate sales forecasts and reports.
Provide management with insights and recommendations based on account performance.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, Marketing, IT, or related field.
- 24 years of experience in sales, preferably in IT, technology, or solutions for the public sector.
- Proven track record of achieving or exceeding sales targets.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Experience with CRM systems (Salesforce, HubSpot, Microsoft Dynamics, etc.).
- Knowledge of government procurement processes is a plus. Ability to work independently and manage multiple accounts.
